The fabric smoothing function is designed for elastic fabrics, where a threaded roller spreads the fabric edges outward to prevent them from folding inward or gathering toward the center of the roll.

The machine features bidirectional operation, allowing for forward and reverse movement to rewind a small amount of fabric during the unwinding process.
